Our festival will take place in the beautiful town of Peso da Régua, located on the banks of the Douro river and being the tourist capital of the region of Douro Valley, declared World Heritage by UNESCO.
Peso da Régua is located about 100 Km. east of the city of Porto, and also about the same distance from the Spanish border (see attached map).
From there we will make several excursions to fully enjoy the wonderful landscape of this central section of the Douro Valley, called Alto DouroVinhateiro. Thus, it is previewed a cruise by the Douro river, with milonga included, until reaching the picturesque town of Pinhão (exceeding the imposing unevenness that supposes the dam of Régua –Barragem of Bagaúste-), the visit to one of the more historical “quintas” (wine states) of the region, located in the municipality of Lamego, and the great farewell party, with milonga and barbecue included, in the spectacular Miradouro de São Leonardo de Galafura, from where you can see the best views over the whole Douro Valley.
